All rainwater and snowmelt falling on GEOLOFTS and its site will be filtered through of bio-swales in the permeable surface parking area and be directed into the small pond adjacent to the main entry terrace. Surplus water will be directed to an underground cistern, which will be connected to the two repurposed storage tanks located in the elevator penthouse. The captured water will be used to irrigate the ground level landscape and will include landscape components of the Phase 2 green roof.

GEOLOFTS is also investing in separate waste lines for
grey water. Eventually, pending City of Chicago approval, the intention is to use grey water for landscape irrigation.
